Turn Failures Into Opportunities

Success is a continuous journey through opportunities that come to pass.

Failure often does not mean that you failed but is merely a different road to take on the journey that you have been on.

The ability to turn your mistakes and failures into opportunities is your ladder to climb to the height of success. Mistakes are the part of human nature. Think of the invention of fire, or I should say the invention of the use of fire. Do you think Homo Erectus were setting out to find a way to heat their food and warm up their caves? No! 400,000 years ago they learned a way to control fire for use. Fire just happened and little by little that incident lead to the advances we have today.

It is a well-known fact that everyone makes mistakes in their lives, and no one ever achieved any significant success in their life without making mistakes.

“Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement.” - C.S. Lewis

The first response to something we deem a failure is to feel pity about oneself or even a sense of regret. This increases our level of stress in life. This is a negative response. We, as free thinking humans with the ability to think and act with conscious ability can change that. We simply breathe, witness the thought and choose again.

"But it's not that easy!"

...Oh, but it is!

The second response can be a positive one should we choose it be. Choosing again helps by re-planning our course of action with enhanced knowledge. The mind gets activated.

Turning failure into opportunity is the most valuable quality of successful people. It ensures growth throughout their lives. Think about it. Where you the same person you were when you were 5, 10, 15... No. Were you the same person you were a year ago? No. We learn. We grow. That is what failure is. Learning. It is an opportunity to learn.

It is as simple as a mind shift.

If you want to benefit from your mistakes, here are few tips, which help you to turn your mistakes into a learning opportunity:

ACCEPTANCE

Acceptance is the first step.

Acceptance may hurt your ego at first. When you practice acceptance more and more, not only are you learning and changing, the ego will also learn and change with you. You will grow. The action of acceptance will get easier and easier until it is part of you.

LEARN

Once you have accepted things you learn from them.

Learning moves you forward. At first it may be hard to get a sense what you have learned from a situation but trust me the lessons are there.

APPLY

Apply what you have learned to try again or to try something new.

... either way, move forward. A tell tale sign of moving forward is self assessment and introspection.

If you want to be successful in life turn failure into opportunity which is hard to learn at first, hard to keep the mindset as well, but it is worth it. Failure is nothing but opportunity.
